Dr. Julia Martin Burch

Julia Martin Burch, PhD is a clinical child psychologist specializing in the cognitive behavioral treatment of anxiety in children and adolescents. She completed her training at Fairleigh Dickinson University (Masters, Doctorate), Weill Cornell Medical Center (Externship), Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard Medical School (Internship), and McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School (Externship, Post-Doctoral Fellowship). Prior to founding Do What Works, she worked as a staff psychologist in the McLean Anxiety Mastery Program and as a trainer and consultant focused on disseminating evidence-based practices in schools with the McLean School Consult Service. She concurrently held an appointment as an Instructor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Martin Burch has won several awards, including the Alies Muskin Career Development Leadership Award and the Special Recognition Member Award from the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), and was selected for the Harvard Medical School Leadership Development Program. She is an active member of ADAA and has served as a member or chair of the ADAA conference committee (clinical practice subcommittee) since 2018.

 

Dr. Martin Burch is passionate about disseminating the effective techniques she uses in therapy with the lay community through workshops, consulting, and writing for such outlets as Harvard Health and the American Psychological Association
